AI Tools

There are so many AI tools available it is impossible to provide a comprehensive list of all of them. However the list below will give youa good idea of what is available.

General Chat LLMs

These are your entry level AI tools and are the best place to start experimenting.

ASIDE: Many of these tools can be used from the command prompt. This turns them into powerful agents immediately, as you can then open/close read/write text documents, which can add amazing capabilities. If you are familiar with the command prompt you can realis what this means very quickly.

ChatGPT (OpenAI) – General-purpose LLM for writing, coding, research and planning. Includes Projects (organised workspaces), Custom GPTs (tailoured assistants) and a fully featured API for integrations.
Claude (Anthropic) – High-context LLM with strong reasoning and long-document handling. Supports building autonomous Agents via the Claude Agent SDK for more complex workflows.
Gemini (Google) – Multimodal assistant (text, images, audio, video) integrated with Google products like Docs, Sheets and Drive, ideal if you live in Google Workspace.
Grok (xAI) – General LLM with live X/Twitter-informed context and a more opinionated tone, better suited for social or real-time oriented use.
OpenRouter – Multi-model gateway that exposes many different LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, open-source etc.) behind one API. Useful for comparing models, routing by cost/quality, or building your own agent layer on top.

Code Development

Cursor – AI-first code editor (VS Code-style) with project-wide context and multi-file edits. Designed to keep you inside the editor for chat, refactors and code generation.
Claude Code – Coding-focused experience around Claude, using large context windows and agents for deeper refactors, debugging and higher-level reasoning on larger codebases.
BMAD – Ideal for someone who can understand Software Development Lifecycles. Project and development tool for the Visual Studio environment that uses Claude AI Agents to run a full Agile software lifecycle. It can create any app or software by handling every step: design brief, project initiation document, architecture document, story breakdown, code development, testing and QA – all driven by coordinated AI agents inside your existing VS toolchain.

Vibe Coding

This is a way of developing apps using AI. You create a prompt to describe the App you want, then fix any issues/faults etc with further prompts

Replit – Online IDE with AI assistance, collaboration and easy deployment, ideal for quick prototypes, teaching and lightweight SaaS experiments.

Base44 – Prompt-to-app tool that turns natural language descriptions into working apps, aimed at product people and non-developers who still need functional software.
Lovable – “AI co-founder” style app builder that can scaffold, iterate and improve full-stack apps from prompts, with more no/low-code flavour than a traditional IDE.

Video – Creation & Editing

These tools allow video to be generated. InVIdeo is the most powerful by far, but the others are useful too!

InVideo – Text-to-video and template-driven video editor for social content, adverts and explainers. Optimised for fast, polished marketing-style videos.
VEO3 – AI video generation and enhancement, good for stylised motion, transitions and transformations beyond simple slide-based video.
Leonardo (Video) – Extends Leonardo beyond images into cinematic-style video clips, useful when you want both assets and short video from one platform.

Video – Avatars & 3D

Alternaitve Video Formats:

HeyGen – Avatar-based video generation with lip-sync and voice cloning, ideal for training content, sales videos and multi-language explainers.
Luma – Focused on more immersive, 3D-style visuals and camera moves for product shots and scenes, rather than simple talking-head content.

Stable Diffusion – Open-weight model with a large ecosystem; ideal for local, heavily customised or privacy-sensitive image generation.

Music

Remusic – Very simple tool for produce songs in lots of different styles. It has several versions, in some version you can copy and paste exact lyrics in pthers you can provide prompts describing exactly the style of music you want. The results can be very impressive.

Automation Tools

Make.com – Visual, no-code automation platform with thousands of integrations and built-in AI features. Great for rapidly wiring together SaaS tools, building agentic workflows and scaling business automations without code.
PipeDream / String – Developer-friendly automation tools for API-first workflows and background jobs, suited when you want programmable pipelines rather than pure drag-and-drop.
OpenRouter – Can also be used here as an infrastructure layer to route different LLMs inside your own agents and automation flows via a single API.

Additional Tools

Fathom AI – Meeting assistant that joins calls, records, transcribes and summarises meetings, then stores them in a searchable knowledge base.
Revio – Sales-focused chatbot/“closer” for turning social-media followers (for example on Instagram) into leads and clients with guided messaging and follow-up.
Notion AI – AI embedded into Notion for notes, docs and task management.
Otter.ai – Meeting transcription and summarisation tool, similar to Fathom but with its own ecosystem.
Descript – Text-based audio/video editor with overdub and AI clean-up, geared towards podcasts and talking-head content.
