In summary, I worked in IT and Electronics for 12 year and used this knowleddge and experience to develop an IT/Web based nationwide business providing a practical home service. I have now run this for over 20 years. This would not have been possible at all without the Internet. Almost all of my Flat Pack Amigos (my home service) marketing has been based on website development, SEO and online promotions, which laid the foundations for setting up The ArtLab. Five years ago, I started using AI in my business making huge leaps, overcoming obstacles I never thought possible. Now I am sharing what I learnt with you.

You learn far more about life and business working for yourself than any employed role for two simple reasons: Firstly the buck stops with you, you get fined, you lose money, you struggle when you get things wrong or make mistakes and fail; Secondly you market your business, sell, fulfill orders, deal with issues, review feedback, and deal with all the financial, IT and legal issues that arise ie you have to do everything anyone in any business ever does.
What did I set up?
Early experimentation with AWS chatbots (since 2016); increased use of generative AI since 2022 for content and operations. SDL is an AI consultancy specialising in AI First — built and operated using AI throughout.
